Here are some of the supports you can access at Covenant House.

Crisis shelter

The shelter, located at 20 Gerrard St. East in downtown Toronto, is open 24-7 for youth aged 16 to 24. Whether you just need a bed for the night or ongoing services, we're here to support you along the way.

At the shelter, you'll access:

  • Your own bed
  • Meals, clothing and showers
  • A locker for your possessions
  • Support from youth workers and counsellors

Support for survivors

We have tailored supports for survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation.

Covenant House services include:

Health Centre

We offer health care that is strengths-based and trauma-informed. We listen to your health and wellness needs and make a plan together. Access a wide range of services with or without a health card or insurance, including:

  • Drop-in services as well as appointment-based services
  • A friendly, non-judgmental team of nurses, nurse practitioners, doctors, psychiatrists and counsellors
  • Education on COVID-19 transmission prevention
  • An on-site lab with HIV and STI testing
  • Over-the-counter medication and first aid supplies
  • Referrals to community medical services, including free dental and vision care
  • Mental health and addiction support


Appointments with our team of nurses are available on a drop-in basis on Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Appointments with our nurse practitioner are available by appointment on Tuesdays from 4 to 7 p.m.

Appointments with our psychiatrist are available on Thursdays from 1 to 5 p.m.

Community Support Services (CSS)

CSS is a drop-in centre for youth between the ages of 16-25, living on the street and in the community. We are located at 20 Gerrard St. East on the bottom level, and are open five days a week from 12 to 5 p.m, by appointment only. Physical distancing and other health and safety measures are in place due to COVID-19.

Our services include:

  • A safe space to come for a meal, a shower and to do your laundry
  • A weekly food and clothing bank
  • Free counselling
  • Support with housing, school and job searching
  • Access to computers and wifi
