Do you want to create a meaningful sense of occasion for your friends, loved ones or colleagues, while also supporting youth who are homeless, trafficked or at risk? We have launched a DIY fundraising platform, Creating the Possible, to help you organize a virtual fundraising event.
With physical distancing guidelines in place, nothing will be traditional for the foreseeable future. People are now using Zoom and other conferencing platforms to host their virtual events as a safer alternative. Some popular ideas include:
- Asking for donations instead of gifts for birthdays or weddings
- Donating proceeds from garage sales or bake sales
- Hosting physically distanced walk-a-thons, a virtual community yoga session or trivia night – the options are endless!
- For students: Organizing a virtual sleep out event or taking part in the Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) program
If you are a student in grade 9 or 10 who is interested in learning more about the Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) program, please visit www.goypi.org to learn more or contact us directly.
If you are planning a virtual fundraising event for Covenant House, please let us know so that we can learn about and support your generous efforts. We will provide you with a DIY toolkit to help you with your event and communicate the cause effectively. Register your event now
