Ed Formosa has had a decade long interest in philanthropy, first with his time volunteering with various community organizations before becoming a monthly donor to Covenant House.
Ed first heard about Covenant House through his church. Listening to stories about the young people we support, Ed could not help but think of his own children.
Ed recognizes how much harder it can be for young people today and how easy it can be to have something go amiss. Ed explains, “a slip in support during those formative years can be really hard and impact you for the rest of your life. Not all young people are afforded the same opportunities, but Covenant House helps provide these opportunities.”
One of the big reasons why Ed supports the youth at Covenant House is because of our encouragement for all goals, not just the big ones. Understanding that not everyone’s path is linear, Ed wants to help those who need extra time and care to create their brighter futures.
Hearing success stories about young people who are now living their dreams, Ed remembers those who are not quite there yet but well on their way. “Big or small, all goals are important and help young people move forward. Whether it's getting that first job or one more credit for their schooling.”
It was with this in mind that Ed wanted to help afford some of these opportunities and support the young people we serve by becoming a monthly donor At Covenant House, we believe that every young person is deserving of a brighter future. Thank you, Ed, for sharing this belief.
“My dad always said growing up, if you don't have anything nice to say then say nothing. I have so many things to say about Covenant House.”
