Every day we see first-hand how the care and comfort young people receive at Covenant House can help them feel more confident in themselves and take control of their lives. When they come through our doors, we’re ready to meet their immediate needs whether it’s a new stick of deodorant, a toothbrush or a warm shirt to wear.

Thanks to our generous community of supporters, we receive donations of clothing and personal items that young people have access to. They can get body wash, a pair of socks or shoes that protect their feet. Having these items can instantly make them feel better, giving them a renewed sense of confidence to feel their best and a new focus now that their basic needs are being met.

As we see more and more young people turn to us each day, the team at Covenant House hosted our very first Pop-Up Shopping event for young people. With a DJ playing their favourite songs and a sundae bar for a treat on a hot day, youth were invited to come shopping and fill a bag with the necessities they needed. They could choose from different clothing items to fit their style, personal care items to help them feel their best, as well as other things like notebooks they can use for school or work.

Young people from the shelter and drop-in centre filled the gym to do their shopping and enjoy the atmosphere. They left happy, with their bags full and excited for the next shopping day.
