On April 11, hundreds of professionals and community members from across the Greater Toronto Area will sleep out to ensure that young people experiencing homelessness and trafficking can find the support they need at Covenant House Toronto.
Sleep Out: Champions Edition provides caring, action-oriented individuals with the opportunity to learn more about youth homelessness and trafficking and help support Covenant House Toronto’s work supporting young people in need. Throughout the evening, participants have a chance to explore our facilities through tours, engage in breakout sessions to learn about the comprehensive support and services we provide, meet Covenant House youth and staff, hear inspirational stories and learn about the impact of their support.
From meeting a young person’s immediate needs by providing food and shelter to offering wraparound healthcare services, counselling, and support to those experiencing homelessness and trafficking, Covenant House Toronto’s team is dedicated to providing individualized care and support for 16–24-year-olds in need.
“For me, one of the highlights of this experience is hearing directly from the youth about how Covenant House has helped them achieve their goals and reach their full potential,” said Tia Plona, 2024 Committee Co-Chair. “The powerful stories of hope shared by the youth are so inspiring and underscore why healing places like Covenant House are so important to support young people at a critical time in their life.”
Sleep Out is more than a fundraiser. It’s an opportunity for community members to learn about the complex issues of homelessness and trafficking and show the youth who come to Covenant House for help that they are not alone.
Whether you participate as an individual or create a team with your friends, family, and colleagues, 90 per cent of every dollar raised goes directly to programs and services that benefit youth in need right here in our city.
