Executives raise over $1.2 million to help lead a brighter tomorrow for youth at Covenant House

On November 17, 67 executives from across the GTA came together for a night to show youth who are homeless, trafficked or at risk they are not alone. These corporate leaders gave up their beds and participated in our Sleep Out Executive Edition. Together, they raised over $1.2 million to help Covenant House provide 24/7 shelter and support to young people experiencing homelessness and trafficking to help them move forward to a better future.

Sleep Out Executive Edition provides an opportunity for community leaders and corporate executives to learn first-hand the issues facing young people experiencing homelessness and trafficking and what a night on Toronto’s streets can look like for youth experiencing homelessness. However, unlike many of the people experiencing homelessness in Toronto, sleepers returned home and reflected on their experiences in a warm and safe place.

Event participants included senior-level business executives who are experts in their sector and are sleeping out on Toronto’s streets to raise funds and awareness for these issues. Sleepers learned about the complex issues of youth homelessness and sex trafficking and heard first-hand from the young people at Covenant House Toronto. Ninety-three per cent of the critical funds raised from this event will directly help the young people we serve.
